Stay Connected with ParentSquare

Sam Rayburn ISD uses ParentSquare for school communication. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using the preferred email address and phone number provided in Parent Portal during our annual online registation event. We cannot stress the importance of making sure that the contact information in Parent Portal (used for online registration) stays up to date. To update/change any contact information (phone number, email, or home address), please do this in your Parent Portal account. You do not have to make any changes to your contact settings in Parent Square. Parent Portal syncs nightly with Parent Square so that information will be updated for you in Parent Square.  Almost all of our parents have activated their accounts through the invitation email or text that was sent earlier this year. If you missed it or recently enrolled, please contact your child’s teacher so another activation link can be sent. Once your account is activated, you can download the mobile app (optional) and update their preferences on when and how you prefer to be notified. While the app is the easiest way to use all the features of Parent Square, you can also access Parent Square website.

  • Receive messages from the school via email, text and/or app notification   
  • Choose to receive information as it is sent or with a daily ‘digest’ at 6pm
  • Communicate in your preferred language
  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
  • Direct message teachers and staff
  • Participate in group messages
  • Receive report cards, sign up to volunteer, and more, all from your desktop or mobile device
     

Notification Settings

We love that Parent Square gives our parents the ability to customize delivery of school-related posts to their preferences. Parents have the option to receive email, text, and/or app notifications. Additionally, parents can set the delivery time of a school post. By default, school posts are set to “digest,” which means they will be delivered at 6PM. (Please note that time sensitive post alerts (school closings, delayed starts) will override the digest option and be delivered instantly). Parents can go and change the default digest setting to “instant” so they you get all posts instantly. Please see the graphic below to check and/or update your notification settings to a setting that works best for you. We know that our parents are busy during the day and that a newsletter or field trip reminder can wait be to seen later in the day, if needed. If you have never activated your account, you will be required to create your account before you can set your notifcation settings. School posts still come to you if you do not have an account, but an account is required to set preferences.
